Why a normal QR code isn’t enough

A QR code is just a link. For people to upload files, the link has to lead to an upload page that works on every phone – without an app and without signing in.

And the files have to end up somewhere you can use them. With EventUpload, that place is your own Google Drive.

Tips for a QR code that gets scanned

  • Print it at least 3 × 3 cm (about 1.2 × 1.2 in), larger for projectors and posters.
  • Keep strong contrast: dark code on a light background.
  • Add a short call to action next to it, e.g. “Scan & upload your presentation”.
  • Test the code with two different phones before printing.
  • Use the SVG version for print – it stays sharp at any size.

Do people need an app to scan the QR code?

No. Every modern phone camera recognizes QR codes and opens the upload page in the browser.

Which files can be uploaded via the QR code?

Any file type: photos, videos, PDFs, presentations and more. You can restrict it per upload page.

Does the QR code expire?

No. The QR code stays valid. You can pause or resume uploads at any time.

I want to collect guest photos and show them in a gallery. Is EventUpload right?

EventUpload has no gallery – files only go to your Drive. For guest photos with a shared gallery and live slideshow we recommend EventPics.
