Why Google Drive can’t do file requests
Google Drive has no built-in “file request” link. The usual workarounds are a Google Form with a file upload question – which forces everyone to sign in – or a shared folder.
To let someone upload into a shared Google Drive folder, you have to give them “Editor” access – and they need to sign in with a Google account.
Editors can also see, rename and delete every other file in the folder. That is not what you want when collecting files from many people.
